We are the best thing to do in Sofia. This is beyond dispute, just see the reviews. How is that possible? Take an amazing team and add hard work to taste. Here’s some more about the ingredients of the Free Sofia Tour recipe for success.
In order to provide these 2 hours of incredible experience, there’s a lot going on behind the scenes. We try to make you a part of that by telling you about our training process. Remember how 43 people applied to become part of the team back in February? And how only 13 of them got to the last stage? Well, 9 of them are already walking the streets of Sofia with the Free Sofia Tour sign. We asked them to tell us what they thought of the selection process and here’s what the first one of them said:
Desi: Guys, I made it to the final. The end of the beginning finally came. It lasted almost one semester, it included a presentation, a text book to be learned, tutorials and four (!) exams. But most of all it was great fun! At the beginning I only loved the idea of the Free Sofia Tour, now I am addicted.
The truth is that these three months of training changed me for good. I started to love my home town, I am more proud of being a Bulgarian, I am a happier person, a better parent and even my bank job seems more interesting right now…
I don’t know if you can get me right, but I am the kind of person who has always been enthusiastic about an idea, a job or a task. And it is not easy to be seen as the crazy squirrel jumping out of energy and enthusiasm following the idea “do good and throw it into the sea”. At one point I thought that my friends and colleagues will not understand me and judge me for becoming a volunteer. But I am so happy that I’ve found a bunch of other crazy squirrels like me who never complain and instead of discussing way too much what should be done, do it right away. Today two friends/colleagues of mine called to ask how to apply to be volunteer tour guides at Free Sofia Tour. It’s contagious, too.
And of course I’d like to thank my friends who taught me the craft: Deni (the nice, but severe perfectionist), Kris (the idea-machine man), Vanya (the good fairy), Boyko (the flexible pro), Dima (the fearless girl), Krassi (a really nice and crazy squirrel) and Filip (the charismatic story teller and a mega crazy squirrel, too).
Part 2 with Stefan is coming soon.
