In a series of blog posts, we are going to present to you our UEFT friends from the different countries.
Let’s start with a Trip to Budapest 🙂 The organization is family run and started with the tours in 2007. It’s one of the first independent free walking tour organizations in Europe.
Tours leave daily at 10:30AM and 2:30PM from the Vörösmarty Square (tér). The meeting point is at the lion fountain – final stop of the M1 yellow line. The tour lasts for about 2.5 hours and covers about 3.5 kilometers.
All guides are local so the tour includes a lot of fun stories and local anecdotes.
The guides are extremely knowledgeable, but don’t expect history lessons 🙂 You will also hear a lot about Hungarian customs, language (which is veeeery veeeery peculiar and difficult to learn!), cuisine, celebrities, and of course – sights and places of interest.
Besides the regular walks, they offer two more free walking tours – a Jewish Quarter Walk and a Communist Walk – both very informative and worth visiting!
