April Charity Tour with Dreams Unlimited

As you may know, every 6th of the month donations from both our morning and evening tours would go for the so called Social Program of our Association.

With the greatest part of the donations we are supporting the social home for disadvantaged children in the village of Doganovo near Sofia.

We have bought various presents for them – sports shoes, special equipment for horse riding for the youngest kids, for Christmas we have organized a tour around Sofia, with dinner and theater performance afterwards, for the summer vacation we have invited them to Sofia Film Festival.

One other project – part of the Social Program – is in cooperation with the teenagers from the social workshop Dreams Unlimited.

The main goal of this workshop is to integrate children from various vulnerable groups and prepare them for the professional life. Since the teenagers live in rather isolated neighbourhoods in the suburbs of Sofia, the activities include meeting new and interesting people outside the usual environment of the children – including people from Free Sofia Tour. The walking tour they did together with our guide Kris got them so enthusiastic, so that they started to prepare presents for the guests of our tours.

This April on Saturday, 6th

We decided to combine both things and have a charity tour together with our friends from Dreams Unlimited. Before March, they have prepared a lot of martenitsas for our guests and we still had some left. So, the kids came to the tour and distributed their special hand-made presents to a big group of Turkish guests, who in their turn invited them for a cup of tea 🙂 Traditional Bulgarian for traditional Turkish!

All martenitsas were granted, but there was also a second group and the kids didn’t want to leave it disadvantaged.

So, they joined them too, and taught them how to dance a traditional Bulgarian dance – pravo horo! This link will direct you to the video of the dance.

We would like to thank the kids from Dreams Unlimited for their great contribution to the smiles of our guests and to wish them lots of new friends from all over the world!
