Itinerary at a glance

  1. 09:00 – Depart Sofia (Alexander Nevsky Square).
  2. 11:00 – Arrive at Rila Monastery; 40-min guided walk (Guided option) or free exploration (Transport-only option).
  3. 12:00 – 5-min drive to trailhead; 15-min hike to the cave and spring.
  4. 13:00 – Return to the monastery; 1–1.5 hrs free time for photos, museum visit (optional, fee), shops, or lunch.
  5. 15:00–15:30 – Depart for Sofia.
  6. 17:00–17:30 – Drop-off at original meeting point.
