After your 09:00 AM hotel pick‑up, relax on the ~1.5‑hour drive through the Thracian Valley to Plovdiv, one of the world’s oldest continually inhabited cities (settled since 4000 BC).

Enjoy a 1.5‑hour guided walking tour covering the Roman Theatre still in use today, fragments of the Roman Stadium, the colourful merchant houses of the National Revival period, and newly uncovered 4th‑century Christian mosaics. Afterwards, take free time for coffee, shopping, or photography along the pedestrian Kapana & Main Street.

Continue south into the Rhodope Mountains to visit Bachkovo Monastery – an 11th‑century Orthodox sanctuary surrounded by forested slopes. View its medieval frescoes and the revered miracle‑working icon of the Virgin Mary.
