Terrific afternoon! We took the 365 free tour our first day in Sofia and were so impressed we came back for the alternative tour two days later. This was a fun and informative way to see sights we would not have found otherwise. They give you a map and instructions for a treasure hunt type adventure to pursue on your own, and at the end you return for an educational “debriefing” that helps put a lit of the history and culture into perspective. If you have time after seeing the “must see” sights, this is aza great way to spend three hours in Sofia.

The concierge at my hotel, recommended I try the free walking tour during my visit to Sofia, Bulgaria. On arrival at the location in front of the Sofia Court House, I found out there was also a Cultural Walking Tour which had a reasonable fee attached if you wanted to do that tour. I highly recommend any visitor to Sofia, do this Cultural Tour as it really gives you a quick overview into the essence of Bulgaria. It concentrates on the traditions and customs and people of the land, not so much on the landmarks etc. Our tour guide Vasil, spoke English well, and answered every question the group had, The 3 hours simply flew by and was very educational. Thanks again Vasil, for taking us on this short educational journey.

I loved this tour, and getting a real life insight into the history of both Sofia and Bulgaria as a whole. My guide – Nikola – was great, well informed, and delivered the tour with energy, even accompanying historical fact with personal/familial anecdotes and stories to really give you an enriching understanding. It was a hot August day when I took the tour but he ensured that the group remained largely in the shade during the tour. I had done the Free Sofia Walking Tour that morning and met some lovely girls there and then we did this tour together later that afternoon. Overall, I would totally recommend this tour.

We did the free walking tour as in every bigger city since it offers a good overview of the most interesting sights including facts and stories behind.
In Sofia our tour guide Boyan did a great job, his English was good and easy to understand. Besides the general tour he answered specific questions and also gave us recommendations for places to visit on the coast of Bulgaria! Furthermore the booklet he gave us led us to a free wine tasting of amazing Bulgarian wines where we couldn’t resist to buy some bottles for friends and family (and ourselves 😉 )!

Being a small city this tour hits the main spots for a first time tourist easily by foot and then affords one to expand accordingly on sites they fancy. Slavyan our guide was great. Had lots of humor, interesting stories and very informative.

Joined this tour with my daughters and so glad we did!! Dimitrov was our guide and he was a great mix of funny, intelligent and very knowledgeable. We walked for 2 hours and saw lots of sights as well as some great stories. There was no way we would have learnt as much as we did without the tour. We went back later to spend longer at those sites of interest. Highly recommend this one. Leave him a great tip he is really worth it!!
